In New York outdoor space is limited, especially that of the private nature. So when I saw these delightful handwoven “outdoor” pieces I immediately began mentally rearranging my apartment furniture to accommodate one. Each chair’s retro silhouette is balanced by bold color, making for a perfect little package. Tuck one into a corner of your living room or place a set around your dining table for a nod to relaxed, laid-back living.

Palm prints are a favorite of mine when it comes to home decor, so I was a complete sucker for these banana leaf printed pants. Step up your menswear-inspired separates for spring in nostalgic palm prints and pinky hues.
A bit of history…the original Martinique wallpaper, made famous by the Beverly Hills Hotel, has been in production since the 40′s and still available today. It’s perfect for dining and powder rooms!

The weather in New York City has been a bit of a roller coaster lately. While sunny skies and my iPhone temperature reading have all signs pointing to spring, the air still seems to have a bit of a chill. And since us NYCers don’t have cars to throw a jacket in for the latter part of an all-day outing, its important to be skilled in the art of layering. Here’s what I wore yesterday for a day of shopping and snacking around Soho.
A maxi dress is a spring staple for me. It’s a no brainer base layer and feels like pajamas, yes please!
Not quite toe-baring weather, I threw on my leopard print ankle boots (chunky heel-clad for stomping around town).
A denim button up is the perfect in-between layer. Its thin enough to go under a snug jacket, but works equally well to shield your shoulders from random winds or keep you warm while walking on the shady side of the street.
My spring layering ensemble would not be complete without my trusty leather jacket. It just works with everything and the not-too-thick leather makes it a great transitional piece. You might also consider a cotton anorak in go-to military green.
If you’re already able to wear full on spring garb, lucky you. Bookmark this post til next year ;-) If not, happy layering!

Just back from a trip to Texas, I am suddenly inspired by the rustic allure of bull skulls. Not just for dusty ranch homes, incorporate one into an otherwise feminine space for an edgy, yet elegant upgrade. Look for versions in gold, silver, or brass finishes for extra style points.
