This poncho is the result of taking cover in a vintage store from recent slush and snow flurries here in NYC.  I was wearing the yellow scarf when I purchased said poncho, and while ponchos are not usually my thing, it just went so perfectly together that I thought, why not?  While this poncho is a bit loud (even more so in person), I love its authentic, bohemian quality.  Try one of these vintage or new options for a similar statement, or raid your local vintage store and see what you discover…

This vintage coat was my biggest splurge on a recent trip to Paris, and while I’m still paying the credit card bill, the versatility of this piece was well worth the price.  It’s finding unique pieces like this one that make vintage shopping oh-so-rewarding.  Whether worn as a cropped jacket, waistcoat, or as full on winter garb, this coat is a multi-season piece and a new closet staple.

Tip.  Throw a waistcoat or gilet over a leather jacket in lieu of  your go-to winter coat for a thoughtfully layered look.
